Tree sap
Ancient civilizations used tree sap as glue because of its sticky composition. If you park your car under a tree, you may notice this sticky substance coating your paint. It can be very difficult to remove tree sap from car paint, especially because it doesn’t respond to normal soap solutions. Leaving the sap on your car will cause it to harden and become even more difficult to remove. You can try to remove the sap with nail polish remover and a cotton ball. Once the sap is gone, wash away any residue with a baking soda and water paste.
Spilled gasoline
Topping off your gas tank means it can accidentally overflow and spill gas onto your car paint. If you don’t wash the gasoline off, it will stain your car’s finish and become nearly impossible to remove. If you accidentally spill some gas on the paint, use a bottle of instant detailer and a microfiber cloth to clean it as soon as possible.
Coffee
Placing your soda or coffee cup on the roof of your car means you can potentially spill it on your car’s finish, especially if you drive away with it on your roof. These beverages are acidic, so they can eat away at your car’s finish. If you don’t have time to take it to a car wash immediately, treat the area with quick detailer and a microfiber cloth.
